Let’s begin by revealing the machinations of the moon—her sources and methods, her bare-faced shenanigans, hiding behind a veneer of buff-colored virtue while spinning narratives from the whole cloth of the spurious sky. Tonight the moon is all ruddy-faced and duplicitous, a lewd and promiscuous bride, sullying the celestial bed as she swallows you, and winks down at us.
Cindy Hochman is the president of “100 Proof” Copyediting Services and the editor-in-chief of the online poetry journal First Literary Review-East. She is a book reviewer for Pedestal magazine and Clockwise Cat. She is a resident of Brooklyn, New York, where she writes poems in order to do her part for the Resistance.
